Thailand eBook – Learn Thai Alphabet in 60 Minutes!

Learn Thai language - Alphabet in just 60 minutes.

Amazing Learn Thai Alphabet in 60 Minutes Tool

“Learn the Thai Alphabet in 60 Minutes!”

This simple, but amazing system of helping you learn the extremely difficult Thai language in just 60 minutes took two (2) years of Development and Application.

We’ve created a visual pneumonic memory system relying on simple images that helps you relate immediately to the crazy Thai alphabet.

In just minutes you will already know Thai letters and sounds – it’s very easy to learn this way.

Before this method there was nothing like it available… and since, our system has been ripped off repeatedly!
That’s how good it is…

Learning becomes instinctive as you figure out what the shapes of the Thai letters mean – and remember quickly. Without this aid – it takes weeks to learn the alphabet and sounds. It has taken everyone I know literally – weeks to learn without using this simple system.

This system takes into account…

You need to learn / remember 3 bits of information about Thai letters:

1. Initial sound
2. Final sound
3. Class

We want to call it “effortless” but, would probably receive flak for it. Let’s just say it’s the easiest method you will ever come across for learning the incredibly difficult Thai Alphabet -

and we’ll leave it at that.

Thai vowels are much different than the English vowels you’re used to.

This will sound strange, but, Thai vowels are EASIER and MORE Consistent.

While English has 5 vowels, Thai has 32!

The English language’s 5 official vowels have many different sounds depending on what they are surrounded by.

These gangs, or , diphthongs as they’re known change the sound. Look at “ai”, as in “air”, or “aisle”. When you start adding up all the different sounds that can be created by combinations of individual vowels in english, you end up with a lot of vowel sounds.

Thai Language separates these sounds out into distinct vowels. That’s all. See, already we’ve simplified it immensely!

Thai vowels are more consistent because they ALWAYS are pronounced the same way… or, they use a different vowel. If you ai, it’s ai – it’s not aisle like a long i sound.

So, the 32 vowels you have to learn really only have about 20 vowel sounds…. there are very slight variations on some that make learning the basic ones easy.

WHY SHOULD YOU LEARN the THAI ALPHABET? Business Travelers, Tourists, or Long-term Expats should be interested in learning the Thai Alphabet. Without this knowledge you are basically – illiterate in Thailand. If you know the Thai Alphabet you can decipher the double-pricing schemes and other “Warning Signs”. You can find shops that you need by knowing what you’re looking at as you stare dumbfounded at a sign full of scribble. This ebook is available in PDF or PocketMobi format. You will automatically receive the PDF version when you purchase here. Just write: mikefook@gmail.com if you need the PocketMobi format too. Note: this ebook is not available in many other formats because the pictures are crucial to helping you learn the Thai alphabet. Many ereader formats are pure text and don’t render pictures at all, or very poorly.

I created this unique 22 day meditation course as a way to help you learn a simple Vipassana like meditation – without religion or dogma attached to it.

Meditation is a physical act… the extra fluff of Buddhism, Vipassana, Pali language, rules, heirarchical levels, etc – is completely unnecessary and probably hinders those that place a priority on it.

This free meditation ebook is 75 pages long and illustrated. It comes in PDF format. If you need it in another format – just ask.

Apple Tablet Wishes

Ultimate ebook reader? Apple Tablet PC on stand.

Ultimate ebook reader coming soon? Let's hope we can at least plug in an external keyboard.

The impending Apple tablet could come in so many variations that I’m bound to be disappointed. I want the tablet to have it ALL: Ereader, HD movie player, mp3 player, speakers, etc.

Specifically, as a bare minimum here’s what I want the upcoming Apple iSlate, iPad, iGOD product to do:

  • Read PDF’s well. PDF’s have the best graphics and readability – now, just create something that works with it – do not make a new proprietary format.
  • It should read all ebook formats and work with Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Sony, and anyone else that offers ebooks for sale online.
  • Have a 10 inch touchscreen with a full-size haptic touch keypad that works as well as my Nokia 5800 Xpress Music phone. Handwriting recognition should work very well.
  • Play HD 1080 and 720 flash, .mov, .avi, .wmv, .anything with built in speakers.
  • Have a built in microphone so I can use it for VOIP on SKYPE and give it verbal commands it understands. I don’t like the stupid earphones w/mic contraption.
  • Have a 3MP camera for video chats. A good stand that comes with it for free.
  • It should serve as an extra monitor for my notebook by plugging it into a USB port anytime I want.
  • Have BlueTooth, WIFI, EDGE, 3G, 4G.
  • Enable me to replace the battery.

That’s about it. We’ll see what it actually has when it comes out – supposedly it will be announced in January and start shipping about March 2010.

If the new Apple tablet has the above functionality – would you buy it? What else would you want to have it do?

Why Thailand Authors Should Embrace Ebooks…

I started out with the goal of getting published – a paperback book, I thought, would be the ultimate ego boost. At least until the movie was made… After looking into it more and asking myself what was more important, money or fame? I came to the conclusion – money is more important. Money is far more important.

The publishing contracts authors sign with traditional paperback book publishers are quite restrictive on present and future acts. For instance, most paperback publishers will insist they own the digital rights to your book content as well – for distribution! Meaning, if you write a book, sign a contract with Bangkok Books, or Asia Books, Lotus Books, whichever company – you are probably signing away your digital rights to market your OWN book on the internet on your site, eBay, Amazon, anywhere.

In order to sell your book online your publisher must sell it for you… which results in a pittance of an income for you – regardless how many ebooks they sell. Not only that, many publishers don’t have agreements with Amazon or other major distribution channels – so, your digital ebooks go nowhere. This very important channel goes unused because traditional book publishing companies are not excited about ebooks – nor are they set up to sell ebooks.

Wouldn’t you rather retain all the rights to your written works?

I decided a year ago that I wanted all the rights. Similar to music industry performers that are tired of selling an entire music CD and making a dollar… I want to retain as much money and rights to distribution of my own material as possible.

Not only this – but, I want to help other authors retain their rights by giving them an outlet for their digital ebooks here at ThailandeBooks.com.

Sign on here and you’ll give up nothing of your rights – we’re just another outlet that you allow to market and sell your ebooks for a commission. You might sell your ebook 50 other places online as well. You might self-publish your book in paperback form on your own as you make enough money from ebook sales to do so. Or, you might give up caring about selling a paperback book.

Ebooks are more than just another way to get your book out there – ebooks are here now – and give authors the chance to retain all rights to their content in the present and the future.

Do you have books already written about Thailand or Asia topics that you couldn’t find a publisher to publish? If you’re a writer based in Thailand – of course you have. It’s very difficult to match up a story with a publisher and actually go through and get published. It’s an exercise in futility often times.

Now you have an outlet for these books – assuming they are decent books and will have an audience – sell them here and everywhere else you possibly can sell them online.

New Thailand EBook: 25 Ways to Make Money in Thailand

The full title of this book is, ’25 Ways to Make Money in Thailand Without Teaching’ by Mike Fook. In reality, it’s more like 150 ways to make money because Mike offers multiple subjects he believes would do well for each way to make money.

What would you pay to be able to get out of teaching and continue to live in Thailand?

Teaching is the usual way foreigners coming to Thailand for a short or long-term stay. Many teachers try teaching in Thailand for a term, maybe a year, and decide – it’s definitely not for them.

What to do then?

Before you quit your teaching job read this book. In it author Mike Fook outlines 25 ways to make money in Thailand to support yourself. Most of the suggestions are for online projects – but, don’t let that scare you. Mike lays it out for you completely if it’s possible to do it in a chapter, or, refers you to exactly the right place to learn the skills you need to have to make enough money to get out of teaching.

So, what would you pay to know about a project you can start today and build up in a short time so you’re earning enough money to stop teaching?

$295?

I think most teachers – if they were seriously looking for an ‘out’ of teaching and a solution that would take care of them for a year or ten – would pay 9990 baht – about $300 USD.

But, you don’t have to. This ebook is just $19.95 and promise to send Mike your first $100 you make with one of the programs.

New Thailand EBook: Moving to Thailand

The Ultimate Guide to Moving to Thailand, by Mike Fook

Moving to Thailand from your home country takes a lot of problem solving. Not just before you go, but after you arrive. In fact, it’s the details of the problem solving that usually destroy a plan to move to Thailand.

Covered in The Ultimate Guide to Moving To Thailand:

  • Preplanning – before you leave your home country
  • What to bring, and more importantly, what not to bring
  • Staying connected to your money at home or bringing it?
  • Cost of Living – How little can you realistically live on?
  • Money Saving Secrets – from long-term expats
  • Technology – keeping your identity, personal information, and money safe
  • Finding a Thai Wife – do’s and don’ts and exactly where to look
  • Thai Culture – when to wai and when you’re about to get a bottle to the back of your head
  • Housing – inside scoop on owning a home, and how to set it up
  • Visa – essentials and the dark side
  • Escape Plan – the best laid plans can fail. When is it time to throw in the towel?

If you’ve already read Mike’s other guide, “Thai Black Book” you understand that Mike leaves out NOTHING. It’s all in there – and in my mind this ebook is worth $95. He is selling it for just $14.95! It’s a steal. There is more solid information in this book than there is across the next 12 sources for information on moving to Thailand.

How do I know this?

Those are the sources he used as a base for the book and added more than half the information on top of that.

Living in Thailand
What is it like to move from the west and live in Thailand?

One man’s account of moving from America to Thailand in 2004 and what he found when he arrived.

“Living in Thailand” has many photos and is now 104 pages long.

We’ve received excellent feedback on this ebook already. In 2006 it was released as a free ebook of 47 pages. After 34,000+ downloads the author has fleshed it out and added photos.

All the response we’ve had about this ebook is that it’s an exceptional read and gives a good introduction to what it’s like living in Thailand for a western expat coming to live or vacation in the Land of Smiles.

From the book:

The “f – it” attitude is important. As an American I think we have less of it than perhaps some other cultures.   In school we were made to be good. It was not a democracy in the classroom. We didn’t just get rowdy as an entire class if we all felt like it. And I find it hard to believe that we EVER got as loud as a classroom of Thai kids when they get going. Picture 45 kids mainlining liquid crack via Intravenous during the class right before yours.

————

In Isaan one time I had lunch with some top administrators from the department of education… the first thing the top guy ordered was some rice bugs for appetizer.  Oh, and some beer for everyone.  There is no stigma attached to those that order beer at lunch time here in Thailand. Even among teachers!  It’s normal.  It’s easy to get used to also…

————

From the “First Time for Everything List”, another 40 are listed in the book:

  • 1st time I saw thin persons outnumber chubby, heavy, obese people.
  • 1st time I saw pretty or acceptable girls outnumber ugly or undesirable girls.
  • 1st time I ate bugs. (rice bugs, crickets, grasshoppers, ant larvae, hellgrammites, giant Chinese cockroaches, silkworm larvae, and scorpions (which landed me in the emergency room!)
  • 1st time I ate such spicy food (yum woonsen) that I sweat profusely, felt violently ill, and recovered within an hour.
  • 1st time I had diarrhea more than 10 days.
  • 1st time I saw a fight where a guy was cut in the stomach with a broken bottle and then his head was kicked and bottles were bounced off his face after he was unconscious. He died. So, first time I saw a murder too.
  • 1st time I threw water at people and had water thrown at me for 24 hours over a 3-day period. (Songkran)
  • 1st time I saw ladyboys that WERE prettier than girls.
  • 1st time I spent less than 50 cents USD for breakfast and lunch and less than $1.00 USD for dinner.
  • 1st time I slept on a tile floor; a concrete floor; a hard bed; a wooden couch.
  • 1st time I had my crotch grabbed by anyone other than a woman.
  • 1st time I’ve eaten black beetles, grasshoppers, crickets, silk worm larvae, queen red ant larvae, giant Chinese cockroach, and a huge Scorpion (which landed me in the hospital overnight).

As with all of our ebooks you can choose which format to download in – you always receive the PDF version of our books because it’s one format preserves photos. This ebook in particular has many high quality photos you’ll want to see.

New Thailand EBook: Cleansed, by Mike Fook

Cleansed is a fiction novel set in Patong Beach, Thailand and is an action-thriller.

Buy Now

Mike Fook, in his groundbreaking new fiction novel, Cleansed, rips apart the hidden sacrosanct world of the child lovers living in Patong Beach – piece by bloody piece…

Cleansed – is a 250 page, full-length vigilante fiction novel.

A short excerpt if you’re over 18 years old:

‘Parker, who is MZ1?’ I said.

‘My friend,’ he said.

‘Your friend who? And, why is he calling?’

‘Mike Zeen, he’s a friend from Long Island. He came with me to Thailand,’ he mumbled through the tape, still hardly able to move his lips at all.

‘Does he know where you are right now?’

‘No, he’s in Phuket town.’

I hit silent on the phone and let it ring, continuing with his password…

‘Parker I’m going to write down what you told me.’

I walked across to the bag of Pump’s things and got some more tape, pulling a large almost yard length piece off.

I grabbed some paper and a pen from Gigi’s table and I wrote…

beOtch1

I showed it to Parker.

He shook his head yes. I wrapped the tape around his head again – two and a half times.

I said, ‘Parker, you don’t know me, but I’m not one to play games. You were responsible for telling those guys to hurt my Thai friend at Paradise Beach and for that I have to really make you pay with cash, pain, and humiliation. But, if you’re fair with me I’ll consider that. You could make this difficult if you wanted to. It would be the wrong choice for you and Ivan, but it’s your choice. See, even though you look like you’re sitting there helpless and pissing your pants… you can still choose something that will affect your future.’

I paused.

‘Everyone has choices… except children sometimes. You know all about that, yes?’

I walked over to Parker’s computer and said. ‘Ivan tells me you were a runner. I know you like to run around Long Island when you’re not banging little kids in Thailand. I found some results online for Parker Wu in some of the old man races. You run eleven minute miles which, quite frankly sucks, but, I’ll bet running is a part of your life you wouldn’t want to give up, not even if you were in prison. At least walking is important I’d imagine… Yes?’

He looked at me, afraid to show emotion perhaps. He wanted to know where I was going with this…

“If the password or other information you give me now, or later doesn’t match even one time. I’m going to start by cutting off your third toe on the left foot. Then the rest of your toes in random order as it comes to me.

Now, all I have with me is Frank’s knife and my knife. Frank’s knife is very sharp. This is one of the sharpest knives I’ve ever had the pleasure of cutting with. It’s so fucking sharp that it’s too sharp actually.

My knife I brought with me from the USA is a simple hunting knife. It’s a folding knife hunters use to field dress deer or whatever else. I use it for fish mostly. It was made in Portland, Oregon. It isn’t all that sharp. It isn’t heat-treated like Franks. It doesn’t hold the razor sharp edge like Frank’s does. But, the cool thing is, it has a handle on it with some nice rubber grip that will make it easier on me to cut your toes off. It won’t be any easier on you…’

I laughed out loud.

‘Because it’s so dull compared to Frank’s you would probably pay me if you had the chance so I’d use Frank’s knife to cut your toes off instead of my own $40 knife.

Here it is right here Parker, take a look.”

I pulled the hefty hunting knife out of my pocket and unfolded it. It looked more impressive than Frank’s knife did, to the untrained eye.

When I thought he was getting the point, I said, “If we get through your toes, and I won’t cut off the big toes – no, there are a couple wicked bleeder arteries in the big toes… don’t worry about those. But, if we get through your other eight toes and you lie to me again about something I will slice your Achilles tendon in six or eight spots on each leg. I’ll slice them and dice them like I’m cutting strips of deer jerky meat.

If for some reason you can get through all this trauma. And, realistically I know you know, that’d be quite impossible…

But, say you do. And you’re still lying to me as we go about things here I’m ready to start gouging out eyeballs and cutting around your kneecaps and the tender ligaments that hold that amazing joint together.”

I remembered, ‘You know the Vietnamese eat the eyeballs of their dinner fish?’

I went on, ‘If, for some reason you get past that and are still not a raving lunatic… there are so many other joints and tissues to work with I don’t think I’ll run out of anything soon. You know what I’m saying?’

There are so many things in the human body to fuck with – and most of them cause pain when prodded, sliced, and hacked at with a knife. That’s just the way God in his infinite wisdom created us.

I was silent for at least three minutes. His eyes were clenched tight, he sweat all over the floor. His stomach jerked in spasms…

‘Now, before I log in to your computer is there anything you want to tell me?’

This vigilante fiction novel is not likely to appeal to women or those with a weak stomach. Anyone with a soul might not enjoy this book. If you enjoy payback stories – this is one of the most hard-hitting you’ll find.

EBook Submissions

For writers that wish to publish their unpublished books with us:

If you are a writer in Thailand or anywhere in Asia and you want to write an eBook and sell it here please read the ebook submission process first.

Here is the process:

1. Create your ebook. Create a book that will generate a lot of interest. We already have travel guides in Thailand covered, but look at our list of other ideas to come up with something we’re sure will work – or, come up with your own ideas. Fiction welcome, set in Thailand.

2. Edit and format your ebook for ereaders. We have detailed instructions, and it takes some effort – but I can reformat my 100 page ebook in 2 hours. It’s necessary to reformat because most ereaders don’t like graphics, and special formatting. ANY special formatting. So, it’s a pain, but necessary.

If you absolutely don’t want to do it – we’ll do it for you – for a small fee depending on the size of your ebook and the extent of work we’ll need to do.

3. Your book should be created in Microsoft WORD format. (.doc).

4. Sign our agreement. You retain all rights, we just need rights to sell your ebook also.

5. You’ll choose a price for your ebook.

6. We list your ebook(s) here and market them. We have a number of Thailand based sites that are linking to this site and we’ll grow Google rank quickly.

7. Tell any friends that have websites about the availability of your ebook and ask them, beg them, pay them, to link to your ebook sales page here. Any link you can get to your product pages from other sites will help.

8. We’ll also market your ebook on Twitter, Friendfeed, Tumblr, Google, and Facebook, and through other channels.

9. When your ebook sells you’ll make 50% of sales (after payment processor fee).

8. Repeat.

One of the best ways you can make money through selling ebooks is if you create a SERIES of ebooks. One book is great. It might sell well. Create a series that people can’t do without and you’ve really set yourself up for what might turn into a career.

You’re free to sell your ebooks anywhere else you like, or sell them on your own at eBay, or wherever. We have no binding agreement that takes any rights from you, just enables us to sell your ebook in addition to whatever you’re doing. This is in stark contrast to traditional paper book publishing contracts.
